Formed in 2010, the Atlanta-based 1/2 Ghost is composed of D'andre O'range and Chris Wind, the soulful half of the Macon, GA, underground sensation, Ghost Squad (or "GS4", so named for the four-man Hip-Hop group which also includes Hot Flame and Legacy). The duo successfully blends Hip-Hop with Funk, Soul, Alternative Rock, and even Ragtime to create listening experiences packed with vivid imagery that translates into Renaissance art on stage. This band explores subject matter ranging from relationships to the condition of the human race, all in futuristic, yet vintage fashion.
1/2 Ghost, which writes and produces all of its own music, is closely associated with their mentors in Parliament Funkadelic, including George Clinton and Michael Hampton, who within them instilled ages-old funky wisdom.
Associated acts also include B.o.B. (in whose "I'll Be in the Sky" music video Chris makes a cameo appearance as a baseball bat wielding gangsta rapper), Janelle Monae (with whose Wondaland Arts Society they have found many funky friends), and Doski Wo of the famed Dungeon Family (which also includes Outkast and GooDie M.O.B.)
1/2 Ghost provides something for everyone with their circus of broken hearts, and katana-sharp cadences!
